More of a Human Job
Dave Winger is a large animal veterinarian in Vale, Oregon who believes you must care about the people as much as the animals. He said it is “more of a human job than an animal job.”
Dr. Dave Wenger, large and small animal veterinarian with 25 years of experience, has been operating a solo mobile veterinary practice in Malheur County in Eastern Oregon for the past 14 years. Wenger and his wife Kerri met at the University of Wyoming during their undergrad programs and have been living in Vale, Oregon for the past 23 years where they raised their two children who are now in college.
Wenger knew he wanted to be a veterinarian in the 7th grade after reading the work of famous British author and veterinary surgeon James Herriot. Wenger said he could make more money working in a brick-and-mortar vet clinic, but he enjoys working outside in the elements and being out in the community getting to know his clients and neighbors.
